Activating your license

  1. Purchase a plan at brianmunene.me/#pricing.
  2. After purchase you receive a license key by email.
  3. Activate it in the dashboard Settings page, or via the CLI if prompted.
  4. CostHQ validates your license online once and then caches the result locally. Re-validation happens every 14 days — your Pro features work offline between validations.

Pro features explained

Spend Firewall

The Spend Firewall intercepts API calls before they leave your machine and blocks them when a configurable policy rule is triggered. You define rules such as a daily spend cap, a per-session limit, a per-project ceiling, or a list of models that are never allowed. Agents that would blow past your budget are stopped at the gate instead of after the fact.

Runaway Agent Alerts

CostHQ monitors your active sessions for unusual patterns: cost-per-minute spikes that exceed a threshold, the same model being called in rapid succession, or an abnormally high number of file touches in a short window. When a pattern matches, CostHQ raises an alert in the dashboard and (optionally) triggers a browser notification so you can intervene before the session drains your budget.

Command Center Console

The Command Center is a live control panel inside the dashboard. You can start a new session, inject token records, or terminate a running session entirely — all from the browser UI without touching the CLI. Background watchers for file changes and git commits start automatically when you launch a session from the console.

Shareable Stats Card

The Stats Card exports a PNG image summarising your coding and AI usage — total sessions, total time, total spend, top models, most active days — styled like a Spotify Wrapped card. Share it in your team Slack, your portfolio, or your README.

Activity Heatmaps & File Hotspots

The Activity Heatmap shows a 7 × 24 grid of your sessions broken down by day of week and hour of day, making it easy to spot when you and your agents are most productive (and most expensive). File Hotspots lists the files changed most frequently across all sessions with churn bars, so you can see which parts of your codebase attract the most AI-assisted iteration.

Advanced Insights

The Insights page combines file hotspots, the activity heatmap, per-project breakdowns (cost, sessions, duration, tokens), and the full model pricing reference in one place. Use it to audit where your AI budget is actually going at a task and project level.
